Outside of Intimacy Coordinating, she also works as a Safety Supervisor and Stunt Performer, giving her extensive industry knowledge as both a performer and understanding the details of how productions work. She creates a safe environment on set to allow actors to focus on acting, while promptly and professionally taking care of production matters. While her safety experience has primarily been on international projects, she is willing and keen to help projects of all scales anywhere in the world.
What does an Intimacy Coordinator do?
The role of Intimacy Coordinator on film sets is to support actors, directors and producers to safety film intimate scenes. These intimate scenes could include any form of touch between actors, any nudity or any sort including implied nudity and any form of intimacy including foreplay or solo play.
An intimacy coordinator helps actors by being their advocate and guide whenever scenes involve physical closeness or emotional vulnerability. They create a safe, respectful space where actors can speak up, set boundaries, and feel fully informed about what's expected in a scene. Whether it's helping choreograph a kiss, checking in on comfort levels, or making sure consent is ongoing, they’re there to support the actors every step of the way.
An intimacy coordinator helps film studios by making sure intimate scenes are handled professionally, safely, and respectfully—which is not only the right thing to do but also smart for the production overall. They help reduce the risk of misunderstandings, legal issues, or on-set discomfort by setting clear boundaries and protocols from the start. This creates a more positive work environment, boosts actor trust, and ultimately leads to better performances and smoother shoots. Think of them as a mix of safety officer, creative collaborator, and peacekeeper—all rolled into one thoughtful role that protects everyone while keeping the story on track.
